– You can either be a source of motivation or a source of demotivation. You generally can’t be neutral and if most of your messages are negative or around ‘helping’ everyone else, it is likely demotivating. Building on and adding to good ideas is motivating. It is possible that the confused notion of putting up obstacles to overcome as a way to ensure success is an unfortunate remnant of social Darwinism.
– I just read about overuse of the word ‘innovation.’ Possibly true, but few leaders actually want real innovation because it is disruptive and requires a leap of faith. But that’s where growth comes from.
